Green initiatives are greatly influencing current homebuilding trends. Not only are many focused on reducing their personal environmental impact, but there’s also a growing interest in less reliance on power and utility companies. As more technologies and techniques become available, the more this becomes attainable.
Many preach, but few companies have been able to successfully implement solid practice in their independent homebuilding businesses—CBUSA member Addison Homes is one of the elite few.
The upstate South Carolina builder is notorious for going above and beyond the rigorous requirements of the U.S. Department of Zero Energy Ready Home and National Green Building Standard programs. They have achieved numerous labels touting this capability like U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR®, Indoor airPLUS™ and WaterSense™. The latest installment in their green story: two illustrious 2016 Housing Innovation Awards.
This year, Addison Homes is among 34 of the nation’s most eco-conscious homebuilders nominated for awards in five different categories: Affordable Homes, Multifamily Homes, Production Homes, Custom Homes (For Buyer), and Custom Homes (Spec). We congratulate Addison Homes for winning both the Innovation in Custom Homes (For Buyer) and Innovation in Custom Homes (Spec.) categories.
These awards are to be announced on Wednesday, September 27 during the EEBA Excellence in Building Conference in Dallas, Texas.
We are continually impressed with the high caliber of builders that comprise the CBUSA member network. If you’re interested in joining this elite network, please get in touch. For other updates and news, join us on Linkedin.
