CBUSA’s builder group in San Antonio — the Texas Custom Builders Guild (TCBG) — recently celebrated a significant milestone — 10 successful years of membership.
Comprised of 17 premiere builders in the greater San Antonio area, TCBG ranks among the top 5 CBUSA markets in the U.S., with 4 members currently among the ranks of CBUSA’s Power 30. The group has a combined projected revenue of $96.8+ million in 2017 based on 225+ projected home starts. Currently, the group has 79 Preferred Vendor partners in their program.
Since its inception, TCBG has been a shining example of what it means for a region’s top contractors to band together with the common goal of working toward the betterment of their respective businesses. And as CBUSA has continued to add member groups across the U.S., TCBG has established itself as the group whose methods and strategies set the standard for success.
During its first decade, TCBG has created several ground-breaking programs. They were the first group to create formal purchasing commitments for turnkey insulation installations, which improved their pricing by as much as 30%. And a subgroup of builders also created their own title operation to facilitate title conveyances and loan closings. They’ve also hosted charity events such as a golf tournament for the San Antonio Shriner’s Hospital. To ensure that the great ideas keep on flowing, the group meets regularly for their “Over a Beer Night,” to discuss strategic positions and action items in a casual setting with the goal of continued innovation.
